The Piacenza Colloquia on Hypertension ar one-day lasting events that take place every two years. The Third Colloquium, that will be dedicated to the connection between hypertension, coronary artery disease and heart failure, will consist in a series of lectures encompassing the basic aspects (genetics, biochemistry, biophysics, pathophysiology), the instrumental diagnoses, the teraphy, the prophylaxis and the epidemiology of the questions in consideration. Ancillary aspects such as the nursing activities, physiotherapy, psychology, and pharmacoeconomics will also be considered.

In addition to the invited lectures, free communications will be presented. The abstract and registration forms will be part of the Second Announcement, which will be circulated in October, 1998.
