Hospital Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Barcelona, Spain

Epidemiology

The incidence of this type of interatrial block in general population is very rare. In our prospective study that we have performed the incidence of this type of block was 1‰ in the ECG interpreted in ECG laboratory of a hospital (81 from 80 000 ECG interpreted in 7 years). In patients with valvular heart disease we found an incidence of 2%.
