Introduction

The study of sequential pattern of ventricular activation and contraction can be performed by a noninvasive method of the phase image analysis derived from equilibrium blood pool scintigram. Phase analysis is useful to discriminate and characterize various abnormalities of interventricular and intraventricular contraction and conduction. Particularly, pacemakers' dependent patients show abnormal ventricular activation and contraction sequence well identified during blood pool scintigraphy1-6. The aim of this study was to revise our data concerning the mechanism of the ventricular and interventricular synchronism in the preservation of cardiac function during different pacing modes at rest.
