Abstract
|
|
An explanation of sudden cardiac death is usually
found in chronic disease involving the aorta, coronary arteries, myo-cardium and
conduction system. Why cardiac arrest occurs in that precise moment and place is a matter
of controversy. Evidence is here given that acute cardiovascular injuries, frequently
precipitated by effort, superimpose to the chronic substrate and act as a trigger of
sudden death, both mechanical and arrhythmic.
