Introduction

Amiodarone, a class III antiarrhythmic agent, is often used in the treatment of pediatric patients with medical resistant and life-threatening supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias1-4.
The aim of our study was to evaluate the effectiveness of amiodarone used alone in infants and children affected by life-threatening or drug resistant tachyarrhythmias, if age is related to amiodarone therapy failure and if propranolol, a non-selective beta-blocker agent, could improve the success rate of amiodarone.
