Introduction

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) as a dramatic presentation of ischemic heart disease occurs approximately 10 years later in female (F) than in male (M) patients (pts)1. This remarkable difference of age and some controversial results concerning survival after AMI encouraged us to examine sex differences6.
