Introduction

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) as a dramatic presentation of ischemic heart disease occurs approximately 10 years later in female (F) than in male (M) patients (pts)¹. This remarkable difference of age and some controversial results concerning survival after AMI encouraged us to examine sex differences⁶.
