Abstract

Prevention of drug refractory atrial arrhythmias with permanent multisite atrial pacing has been recently reported. The purpose of this report is to review the potential mechanisms by which multisite atrial pacing may have a favourable role in atrial arrhythmia prevention and the different pacing mode configurations used to achieve this goal.
