Introduction

The role of cardiac pacing in preventing atrial fibrillation in patient at risk for this arrhythmias is a relatively new concept. Recent reports indicate that the triangle of Koch at coronary sinus ostium level plays a crucial role in the induction of atrial fibrillation1,2.
The aim of this study was to test the efficacy of permanent interatrial septum pacing at the posterior triangle of Koch for atrial fibrillation prevention and to exclude potential arrhytmic effect.
