Note on DKV: Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG, founded 1927, is the largest private health insurance company of Europe with a gross premium revenue of 6.8 billion DEM in 1998. It offers comprehensive and additional health insurance as well as long-term care insurance. It is a subsidiary of ERGO Insurance Group which is a subsidiary of Munich Re.
Biographical note: Dr. Hans-Olaf Wiesemann, born 1967, studied business administration and economics at the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. After a one-year stay as visiting scholar at Columbia University, he entered DKV in 1995 to work as strategic planner.
