Abstract
|
|
Multisite cardiac pacing has been investigated in recent years
as an alternative therapeutic modality in patients with intractable congestive heart failure despite optimal
pharmacologic therapy. Results from recent studies have suggested that left ventricular pacing is helpful
to maximize the benefit in terms of contractile performance of the heart both in short and long term.
Currently ongoing studies are expected to bring new clues about the hemodynamic and clinical benefits of
biventricular pacing and perhaps its effects on survival.
