Electrophysiologic evaluation after open chest endocardial radiofrequency pulmonary veins isolation

We used radiofrequency energy applied under direct vision through an ablation catheter during mitral valve surgery to perform the long continuous lesions in the left atrium in patients with atrial fibrillation and mitral valve disease needing surgery^1-3. The focus of this paper is to describe the electrophysiologic findings in the following days after the procedure.
