Introduction

Heart rate and autonomic tone are major determinants of ventricular
repolarization length1-4, and their influence on QT interval can be evaluated by assessing the QT duration vs
cycle length relationship, whose slope has been shown to be directly related to the incidence of ventricular
arrhythmias in post-myocardial infarction patients5-11. However, no data are currently available as to the
QT/heart rate relationship in patients with left ventricular dysfunction following acute myocardial infarction.
