Introduction

Recurrent syncope is a common clinical event and its evaluation represents a significant aspect of clinical practice. Head-up tilt testing (HUTT) is widely accepted as a means for evaluating patients with suspected neurally mediated syncope1-3. In order to treat patients with neuromediated syncope there is still the need for identification of patients at high risk for recurrences4-6. The purpose of this prospective study was to follow the clinical course of untreated patients with clinical neurocardiogenic syncope after nitroglycerin head-up tilt testing, and to determine risk factors for syncopal recurrence.
