ATC - Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification
Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical (ATC) classification index, WHO Collaborating Centre for Drug Statistics Methodology, Oslo, Norway, 2007.
ATC classification of the drugs is prepared by the WHO. This classification is annualy updated. The ATC system classifies the drugs in 14 groups according to the drug effects on the specific anatomy system.
The classification has 5 levels, from the anatomical group to the drug chemical substance, ie. to the international non-proprietary names (INN).

 J - ANTIINFECTIVES FOR SYSTEMIC USE
 L - ANTINEOPLASTIC AND IMMUNOMODULATING AGENTS
 M - MUSCULO-SKELETAL SYSTEM
 N - NERVOUS SYSTEM
 P - ANTIPARASITIC PRODUCTS, INSECTICIDES AND REPELLENTS
 R - RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
 S - SENSORY ORGANS
 V - VARIOUS
